I come from a Mexican-American home so I have a great appreciation for both cultures. For the most part I was raised in a Christian home, but my parents divorced when I was 7 and it devastated me! I went to live with my mom for a little bit, but went back to my father’s and then back again, I kept going back and forth for years till I was 18 and moved out on my own. Being raised in a Christian home, really gave me a solid foundation in the Lord. My mother was and is a very strong Christian woman and she raised me in the word of God. I was very involved in church at a young age and had a great time! Right around 10th grade I met a graffiti writer (who shall go unnamed) through a friend of mine. After hangin’ out with him for a bit he convinced me to start writing graffiti it was Valentine’s Day 1990, and I went to my buddies house, they gave me a dictionary and told me to close my eyes and open the dictionary to the middle somewhere and point and then open my eyes and whatever it said that would be my name! Sounds funny huh? Well that day I was dubbed “ORDER”, and so begin my journey “From Here to Fame” I began tagging the streets as much as I could, anything and everything (except for a few things like houses of worship, tombstones, and people’s houses and cars) I was told WRITE YOUR NAME EVERYWHERE! No matter how big or small a tag is a tag, another writer will see it sometime, somewhere. After a few years of tagging and a couple of crews (groups of graffiti artists) I was picked up by the guy who mentored the guy who got me into everything years ago. Both of them started teaching me the sacred art of the spray can. Late 1992 I did my first piece and I was HOOKED! I loved it, even better than tagging! I couldn’t get enough, I loved the way I could take control of normal letters and twist and turn them to make it look cool! The graffiti art sub-culture is very risky and sometimes life-threatening, because your main goal is getting fame and your pressured to do whatever it takes to achieve that fame. After awhile all I did was piece and do murals, and started to get super into the history and roots of graffiti art. Then right around 1997 I took a break from graffiti and was heavily into drinking and drugs, I actually met my wife in 97’ and only about a year later recommitted my life to Jesus. We got pregnant and had our first child in September of 1999, and got married in December of that year. That was also the year I got back into graffiti art, trying to find a way I could use my art to bring glory to God. I prayed about it and started “Advocate Designs” the same month that I got married. From then on I had a whole new outlook on graffiti art! I was so excited to use my talents to speak to kids! I started painting church youth rooms, and church outreaches, and soon after I finally met a guy through a friend a church, who used to be a graffiti artist. “Info” and I started painting together and soon I came across another guy who also painted for the Lord, his name was Pat. And then once again through Info I met Gabe (Sacks) who was a recovering drug addict but was also a graffiti artist and was super on fire for the Lord! The three of us formed Dago’s Evangelistic Artists (DEA) and under that name proceeded painting events, and churches. God has blessed my life so much and I am honored to serve God with everything I have! As Christian graffiti artists I feel we have a responsibility through the gifts God has given us to “Spray the Gospel” and share the good news of Jesus Christ to the world and to the graffiti sub-culture.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
