As far as brands and colors go, I pick and choose. When I started I would find which colors of which brands had the best coverage and use those only. ie: gloss black in krylon is very thin and opaque where gloss black in rusto' is thicker. because I like the even flow of paint that krylon has I would just use ultra flat black in krylon. I soon found out that ultra flat black would crack when it dried on top of other glossy paint(all my other paints are glossy). so then I used semi-gloss black in krylon for years. then just recently, I started using glossy black for certain effects such as shadowing, using it's translucence to my advantage. -fasm
This short movie clip is a basic idea of how to attack a wall. I started out using a WAGNER paint sprayer/gun to lay down the blue(acrylic semi-gloss latex) for the sky and water. i then sprayed on the green in the same fashion. NOTE: A pan and roller work well in place of the wagner/much cheaper! An important thing to remember is to work from back to front. This prevents you from reworking items you have painted in the background. So i first worked on clouds and then moved to the things closer up. I will sketch out with spraypaint where some of the larger items in the piture will end up so that i dont paint 30' of clouds and then cover half of them with trees(well i try anyways) click here for video clip (1.1mb & you gotta have quicktime)
Here's a lil trick i learned from a cowboy clown on how to make a perfect circle. It helps if your wearing pink cowboy boots while you're doing it too. I just grab a peice of rope and find where i want the center of the circle to end up. With one hand i hold an end of the rope on my center point. With the other hand i grab the rope & a can. Keep it taunt and start where it is hardest to reach. click here to watch how it's done (453k & you gotta have quicktime)
After you get done with step #3, put the cap up to a can with a tip on it to "eye" how high the hole should go. Experiment with holes. Try circles and squares. I've even made a few calligraphy caps. When you're done, place it on a can with a phantom/NY thin. When using, the cap gets filled with paint so you'll have to empty it every so often. Some people like to cut out a slot for their finger on the opposite side of the hole. I don't because I don't like to have to empty it as often or have it drip out on my hand. FACT: I've never used a skinny cap and not got paint on my fingers. So if you have surgical gloves, you might want to use them.

Ephesians 2:8-9 explains that God's grace is our only way to salvation.
